valentine’s coffee date

It just doesn’t seem fair that not having a honey bunny should mean that I don’t get to wear a super cute Valentine’s Day outfit. Instead of missing out on the fun, I got dressed up for a real-life coffee date with my sweet friend Kaitlin. And since she brought along her camera, I have some cute photos so we can have a little virtual date.

I’m not saying that you should choose a cafe based on how cute the decor is, but the swings at Fairgrounds are definitely a big draw. Big enough that we were lucky to snag a free one for long enough to take a few pictures!

As soon as we talked about taking Valentine’s outfit pics, I knew I wanted to wear my red roses. Insted of the matching bolero, I decided to dress it down a little bit with a red cardigan and a beret. Fun fact: this is actually an embroidered Christmas beret! Just flip that puppy around, and you’ve got a whole new look. I added my “Don’t fuck with me” Valentine pin to seal the deal.

I got the mocha, of course. My go-to coffee order! It’s only in the past year or so that I’ve become a more regular coffee drinker, and I still prefer it very sweet.

After enjoying some coffee and chitchat, Kaitlin and I took a stroll through the city…just wandering, not looking for anything in particular…

JUST KIDDING, I definitely took Kaitlin to this lovely pink building that I’d seen other local bloggers post on Instagram. What could be better for a Valentine’s Day outfit shoot than a pink backdrop? And it was just a few blocks away from the coffee shop (a happy coincidence!).

Of course, I couldn’t resist a little bit of sass in this Valentine’s Day look. Strange Cvlt is for sure my current favorite shoe brand…I have four pairs now, which is a lot for a girl who usually wears the same athleisure flats every day. Even though there won’t be a ton of opportunities for me to wear these, I just had to have them. They spoke to my soul.

Can I move in, though?? Pink and mint are so on brand. (For non-locals, this is actually a spa, so don’t worry about us being creepers in front of someone’s home!)

I actually do still have some Galentine’s plans coming up this weekend, but it was great to spend a morning enjoying some coffee and playing model with a dear friend. I usually go ahead and go full extra with my outfit no matter what, but knowing there will be photos is always a bonus! (If you want to see the results of Kaitlin & my last photo date, check out my fantasy sorceress shoot here!)

What a FUN way to spend hanging out was a gal pal. I love it. And those pink building photos are the best. I really love the one in front of the teal door. The colors just all come together to well. And those swings in the cafe, how fun!

You can’t just see a pink building and NOT take pictures with it!
