Exciting news: I hit my savings goal for my new sofa! I’ve been using an app called Digit that automatically saves money for you…in addition to general “rainy day” savings, you can also set up goals to save a specific amount of money by a certain date. I’ve been wanting a new sofa for a longggg time, so I made myself a goal and I just hit it! I’m planning to order a sofa from the famous Joybird Furniture, and I’m so hyped for how this will transform my living room. A statement piece like this is going to do a lot to move me in the direction that I want to go with the room, but there’s still a lot of planning to do. So today I’m sharing some of the inspiration pics I’ve been collecting.
Midcentury, tropical vibes, and neon: what more could a girl want??? I love the idea of this kind of urban paradise look, and I certainly would be happy to have gold and flamingos all over the place. Unfortunately, I have a notorious black thumb, so I can’t see filling my apartment with plants ending in anything but tragedy.
Tragically, I don’t live in a super cool loft, so I can’t quite achieve this mix of cool modern style with vintage flair, but I definitely take a lot of inspiration from the definitions of space in this apartment (I have one big living area for my apartment, so whether I keep that as just a living room or try to create a dining room/office nook is up to me), and the various displays of art.
This apartment is by far the most authentically midcentury of my inspiration photos. I’m kind of crazy obsessed with that floor lamp. If I had a beautiful chrome lamp like that, I could probably be perfectly happy in my life.
This ultra luxe Barbie dreamhouse lifestyle, though. This one is definitely more on the glam side (and probably more glam than I would go for my living space IRL, honestly), but it’s definitely aspirational.
This room is so airy, the colors really make a big impact. I love how it uses very midcentury pieces in a very contemporary way.
Obviously, my living room won’t look picture perfect right away, but I’m excited to start acquiring more “grownup” pieces to help me bring the room of my dreams to life!
I’ve mostly been creepin’ on Apartment Therapy and on Pinterest…what are your favorite places to find home design inspiration pics? I can always use more!
