31 days of halloween: a month of spooky style in review

All too often, we don’t really get to enjoy our favorite holidays. We get caught up in the anticipation of it, and then it’s suddenly over and done with. Halloween is definitely one of those holidays for me, so I was super excited to participate in the 31 Days of Halloween challenge! Making an effort to rock a Halloween-inspired look every day was a really fun way to celebrate Halloween all month long, and I definitely wanted to do a quick round-up of all the looks I created! I did a guest post on Spooky Little Halloween about how to rock spooky style, and this should help give you an idea of what that looks like day to day.

It’s definitely no surprise that black and orange made a lot of appearances in my 31 Days of Halloween outfits, but a woman cannot live on black and orange alone! From the start, I tried to experiment with other colors and see what other every day pieces I could remix into something spooky.

This week was an exciting one – I got my new bat skirt from Atomic Starlet! I also had a work mixer and felt like it probably wasn’t the best idea to show up super spooky…so instead, I dressed as candy corn! Part of the fun of long themes like this is having the opportunity to mix things up with unexpected inspiration.

I saved some of my heavy hitters for the end of the month, so I could feel extra spooky when the holiday was truly almost upon us! The vast majority of the pieces that I used for my month of Halloween-y outfits are part of my average fall wardrobe – it’s adding the spooky accessories (bats, spiders, and pumpkins, oh my!) that really takes it up to the next level.

I didn’t end up with a full 30 outfits since I didn’t dress up every day, but all the outfits I did do were Halloween inspired, so I’m gcounting that as a success!

Hopefully you’ve all had an excellent Halloween season as well and enjoy the big day! Happy Halloween!

Do it! I definitely have the Halloween wardrobe that I have because I know I’ll totally wear spiderweb print year round 😀
